Welcome to Olive Tree Nutrition! My name is Rahaf and I am a Registered dietitian (RD) and Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). I am here to help you simplify nutrition information to help you meet your nutrition goals.
I always had a love for food. Every social gathering, every party, every outing revolves around food! While food does nourish our body and gives us energy, it is much more. It gives us comfort, joy and wellbeing. After discovering the importance of food in our lives and the role that nutrition plays in our health I decided to become a food and nutrition expert, a Registered Dietitian. You can read more about my counseling philosophy here.
To become an RD I obtained my bachelors degree in food and nutrition from Ryerson University in Toronto Canada. I then did my dietetic internship at the Toronto general hospital. I counseled a variety of patients with diabetes, heart disease, renal failure, GI surgeries, and stroke. I also interned in community health centers, food service, and in food companies. After writing the credentialing exam and becoming an RD I worked in a diabetes education center where I specialized in diabetes and became a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE).
Later I met my sweetheart and moved to Atlanta. After obtaining licensure in Georgia (Licensed Dietitian) I worked in dialysis and decided to pursue my dream opening my own private practice. At the end of 2015 I took the leap and opened my doors!
